The EXED editor may be used with Wordstar style key commands, EXED's simplified block and editing keys or via menu selected commands (press F1 and select the proper menu). There are over 50 separate commands to assist you in the rapid development of ASCII text files or program source code files.
F1 will call up the entire help and command menu file.
F2 allows you to save the current file in the editor to disk.
F3 will call up a directory and allow you to load a new file.
F5 will enlarge or shrink the Auxiliary Editor windows.
F7 calls an Import Editor. It will copy a selected block to the last cursor position in your current file.Select the file you want and mark the block to be copied with F7.
F8 calls an Auxiliary Editor. You may read/write to files in this window the same as the main editor. You may also import into the Aux. Editor with F7. Save to disk with F2. Exit by <Esc>.
F10 saves the current file to the EXED database and exits the editor.
<Esc> ends the editing session and returns to the main menu without saving.
All dialog boxes requesting a file name will result in a box menu of the current directory if <Enter> is pressed without giving a file name. You may give only a path and/or filemask at filename prompts.
